Family History and Information........

Janice Ketchum Morar was born Janice Savage in Porterville, California and was raised on a 365 acre apple ranch in Kaweah, Ca. near the gateway to Sequoia National Park. She married Richard Ketchum, had two daughters and lived in many places through out California, Oregon and Canada. Janice got her MBA after her husband died and worked as a benefits analyst in Las Vegas, NV. where she remarried to Jesse Morar and works as a social worker in a 180 bed nursing home at 75 years old.

Hazel Ketchum Holenko: Hazel is married to John Holenko and has two children, Althea and Jeremy. Hazel and John met at USC in California where they each received their Masters in Music. They live in Charleston, South Carolina where they started a music school where they teach piano, violin, guitar and dance. Hazel and John play many gigs together with Irish, Grateful Dead, and Medieval music. Hazel also is the lead singer and guitar player for a bluegrass band called the Marsh grass Mama’s and they play at many festivals. Katie Ketchum Carroll: Is a singer, composer, pianist, playwright and actor. She lives with her husband Mike in Sebastopol, California where she teaches piano and voice. She recently performed her one woman musical in San Francisco, California and received critical acclaim. She studied in Toronto Canada at the Royal Conservatory of Music. Richard Ketchum: Husband of Janice, father to Katie and Hazel and brother to Elisha, was an engineer for Howard Hughes where he met his good friend Bob Davey. Although Richard was a talented inventor with the aviation and later the space program, he eventually found his true love in teaching Creative Writing at Humber College in Toronto, Canada. He was an excellent professor and many weekends his poetry students would meet at our home continuing their process under his encouraging mentorship. He also wrote songs and poetry. One of his students, who is now a grandfather and lives in Chicago published a book of poetry this year. Richard died at 51 years old of cancer, after being exposed to 13,000 hours of tetrachloride in the sub-marine service as a young man. He was particularly supportive of his two daughters in their musical pursuits.

Cher Traendly was a sports photographer who’s photos graced the front cover of many Sports Illustrated. Joe Montana and many of the tennis pros were her subjects. She now devotes her time to traveling around the world taking photos of animals and birds. Katie Ketchum has one of her photos on her album Dancing In the Waves.

Mariko Wesley Fegundes is a special ed teacher and is an excellent artist with her masters degree in Art. Her husband Jim is a basketball guru and has developed a program for just about every child and teenager in Sebastopol, California for the last twenty years. They have two children Kimiko and Kenji.

Cassie Carroll was born in Sacramento, California and lived there for two weeks. She grew up at Westminster Woods Conference Center in Occidental, California. She was born to Nancy and Mike Carroll. She is a talented singer, speaker and teacher and received her degree at Simpson University in Redding, California. Cassie resides in Santa Cruz, Ca. where she is a one on one teacher with children with Autism. She also teaches and is a coordinator at Westminster Woods and receives speaking engagements to teens at various conference centers. For fun she likes to Surf and make ear-rings. Her step mother is Katie Ketchum, who was her piano and voice teacher for many years.

Evelyn Izzarelli works with Katie’ husband Mike at the Sebastopol Community Center. Evelyn is the heart and soul of that organization. She has two talented sons, husband Richard and a beautiful home where her artistic flare is apparent everywhere. She has a wonderful laugh and is a very caring person. She loves to visit Italy where her family is from.
