0937 hours. Departing Jackson RV Park, Jackson, TN. We have been on the road seven days. Only a short 130 mile drive to Nashville, Tennessee. We will stay here a couple days. We selected the Two Rivers (Good Sam) RV park. Easy to reach and only a few miles to the Grand Old Opry. We are located on Music Valley Drive. The office is large and the gift shop larger. Full hook-ups and the water must be disconnected by 1900 hours due to freezing. And, as you can tell, WiFi is available. First time in a few days that I could catch up on our adventures.
Once checked in we were advised they had two tickets for Friday nights performance at the Opry. Got 'em. We went out for lunch at the Santa Fe Cattle Company restaurant. It is a barn-like building where you toss your peanut shells on the floor. Food was good, delivered quickly and the margaritas respectable. John really enjoyed his steak and shrimp platter. We give this foodery 4.5 stars and recommend this place. As for Tennessee roads...mostly okay. A few areas bummmmppppyyyy, though TDOT already had signs posted and are starting repairs/replacement. 4.5 stars. Waysides are clean and neat. Recommend taking Highway 155 around the city of Nashville rather than going through. Very nice and takes you right to the spot where you want to camp. After lunch, we went a couple blocks in the other direction of our RV park to the Camping World store. Fun and found a few things we needed. Oh, and for you shoppers, there is a Saks 5th Avenue outlet store. The road around the Opry Mills Mall has speed signs posted...maximum speed 24 mph...yep, twenty-four miles per hour. Cute.
Our visit to downtown Nashville and watching the Grand Ole Opry in the original building was incredible. It felt like I was living in the past and future at the same time. Do not miss the opportunity to enjoy this city and the Opry.
