Thursday 24 July 2008 - Walker River Resort, Smith, NV

Thursday 24 July 2008

Day Three at the Walker River Resort in Smith, Nevada...aka Smith Valley.

This is a get our butts outta bed day and take the trail to the beaches and the Walker River. Down these trails you will also find the club house and the horse corral.
After a brisk morning walk with Lucy the Lab we walked towards the golf course. The resort kindly requests you do not pick up any golf balls found in the sage brush. Back to camp for another delicious, homemade lunch. Now off to the pools. Ah, maybe not. A boisterous group of young people were ahead of us and quickly jumped into the refreshing water. We were not going to do the hot tub again and by the looks of group, they will be enjoying the pool for the afternoon. Not our speed. Ah, but reading and napping is another choice. Or, maybe a brisk game of horse shoes. After some more walking and visiting with people in the lodge we headed back to our camp. Time to turn on the AC and call it an afternoon.
Once again, the evening was pleasant and dining outside inviting; which is exactly what we did. We recommend this resort and hope to return again when it is not quite so hot.
