We are really on our way. After a night in a KOA campground in Ely, we are heading south towards Las Vegas. This was a unique experience as the park was all packed snow. The hosts plow out the roadways and grade the tops to make it easier to drive on them. Everything is all white, including the roads. The fun part is throwing the ball for Lucy as it rolls far away and makes her run carefully. As you can see by the pictures, we barely turned south out of Ely and were, heading away from snow...we hope. It is downhill. Maybe we are clear of the snow. Only the mountaintops are tinged with white. Sharing the driving makes the trip more pleasurable. However, when it comes to congested cities or night driving...well, you know...it's man-at-the-wheel-time. Lucy the Lab is not too sure what this get up in the morning and ride all day long is about. She does enjoy the frequent stops to run and leave a tad of her DNA on nature's carpet. We especially enjoy the changing scenery. Deep white from mountain tops to the edge of the highway, on to thining patches and finally, no snow at all. Ahhh, just what we were hoping for. It is nice to feel warmer.
