Time to turn the corner and start heading west towards home. We are leaving Georgia enroute to Alabama. Spring is really here today. All the trees are in full bloom as are some decorative clusters of flowers around the area. We decided to stay two nights in Tuscaloosa, Alabama to catch up on some needed chores. At the Rally we joined Passport America and get 50% off at many campgrounds in the USA and Canada. This is one of those parks. We are a few miles from the University of Alabama, home of Bear Bryant and the Tarheels. Avalon is the park we picked and besides a couple permanent college residents and construction people, we are completely isolated. We picked out our own spot...which is level, quiet, full hookups and a clear view of the magnificent stars in the night sky.

Busy days. Our cell phone decided to quit for good. On Saturday a visit to AT&T quickly educated us that a replacement phone was a tad pricey. We decided to pick up a pay-as-you-go phone at Circuit City. It will do till we get home and is kind of fun with an Alabama area code. Next, we found a place to get the oil changed on the Ford and then a vehicle wash large enough for the rig. While John was doing the washing I played fetch with Lucy the Lab. Two little children, who did not speak English came up to watch. Before long they were tossing the ball for Lucy and quickly learned the hand signals to put her through her paces. The children's Father came over to make sure all was safe and thank me for entertaining his son & daughter. He motioned having a camera and would I mind pictures being taken. It was easy to let him know I would like to take pictures of all of them with Lucy. We managed to communicate just fine with smiles and nods. Time to go back to camp.
Now it is laundry time. I went to the main office to find the laundry and was surprised to learn they were free to use. Sweet. While the washers and driers were working, I sat outside and chatted with the managers. We learned they RV'd for many years after retiring and now want to stay in one spot. He was 84 years and she would not say. Since this park is near the university, several students have RV's parked there and preferred that style of living versus dorms or apartments. Clever and smart of those students.
